Dr. Kitzia Moreno-Garza (she/her), BIPOC Research Fellow

Kitzia joins Springtide as our 2023–2024 BIPOC Research fellow, working closely with Senior Research Associate Nabil Tueme to understand how race and culture impact Gen Z’s transition into adulthood and how Gen Z youth make sense of their identities. Kitzia identifies as a queer Latina, which has guided and fueled her passion for exploring cultural beliefs and religiosity. During her fellowship, Kitzia hopes to hone her ability to research meaning-making in a collaborative process with members of certain communities, and to translate those findings into easily accessible information. Kitzia recently received her PhD in Counseling Psychology at Texas Womans University. When she’s not working, Kitzia can be found spending time with her husband, playing with her pets, or enjoying activities including cycling, swimming, running, cross-stitching, and intentional rest.
