Hannah Connors, Writer in Residence

Hannah Connors joins the Springtide team as the inaugural Writer in Residence, a position funded by a generous donation. During her 9-month residency, Hannah will contribute to many of Springtide’s written communications, including reports, guides, survey and interview questions, marketing and copywriting, blogs and articles, and more. In addition to contributing to the projects already in motion at Springtide, Hannah will work on residency-long independent research and writing project, tentatively focused on frameworks for ethical decision-making and considerations on character development among young people increasingly disconnected from traditional religious institutions.

About her time with Springtide, Hannah says “I hope to hone my craft as a writer and editor, and gain experience with storytelling related to identity, spirituality, and community. I hope to explore the ways broader systems can adapt, or new ones can be designed, to better support young people in their flourishing, and to strengthen my ability to communicate these ideas to a broad audience.”

Hannah received her B.A. in Public Policy from the University of Michigan with a focus area in mental health issues and policy. She loves spending time outdoors and spent the past year working as a forest preschool teacher. Overall, Hannah tells us she wants “to do work that helps people find joy, peace, and belonging.
