Alanna Rivera (she/her/hers)

Alanna joins Springtide as a Research Intern. She was drawn to the internship by the intersectionality between disciplines that Springtide embraces, including with media, psychology, and religion. A proud Latina who wants to use psychology in service of BIPOC communities, Alanna looks forward to gaining experience with qualitative research and exploring new ways to utilize and apply psychology to real-world circumstances. A New Jersey native, Alanna is a senior at Yale University, double majoring in psychology and film & media studies. She hopes to become a psychologist who can help individuals through both counseling and research, and to use film as an avenue for research and/or bringing awareness to social issues.
