Where do you find the sacred? Is it in a building? In nature? Is it an object you hold dear?
In anticipation of our forthcoming report, The State of Religion & Young People 2023: Exploring the Sacred, Springtide Research Institute invited young people between the ages of 13 to 25 to share a photo of a place or an object that describes their sacred space.
The My Sacred Space Gallery is now available!
It features 100 photos submitted by young people and curated by Springtide Ambassadors. Use the images and stories here as an invitation to reflect and discuss with the young people in your sphere, to cultivate a sacred sensibility.
Special thanks to Linda Badami, who created and conceived of My Anonymous Church – a photographic inventory of spiritual spaces – the inspiration and model for My Sacred Space.

If your photo is selected for posting, the only information that will be displayed with your photo will be your age and the caption. Your name and email address will be kept confidential, will not be shared with or sold or transferred to any other person, and will only be used if we need to confirm your identity or contact you with any questions regarding your photo or caption.
By submitting a photo, you grant Springtide Research Institute a worldwide nonexclusive, royalty-free permission and license to store, copy, host, transmit, and display the photo on the My Sacred Space page of its website and on its social media pages for as long as it may determine. We may determine, in our sole discretion, whether to post or not post a photo, and we may remove a photo from the site at any time.

Rules for Submitting a Photo:
- You must be between the ages of 13 to 25.
- You may only submit one photo.
- You must be the photographer of the photo and the author of the accompanying caption, and you must be the sole owner of all rights in the photo and the caption.
- The photo and the caption cannot depict or name any individual (i.e. please no human faces shown in the image) or include the trademark of any product or service.
- The photo must have been taken in a location that was legally accessible to you.
