b'3IntroductionTo mark the traditional springtime school graduation in 2022, we asked young people, and the adults who support them, to reflect on the past year and share their experiences of belonging . How did someone or something in your community make you feel noticed, named, and known? How would you have hoped to experience a sense of belonging? How do you wish someone or something in your community would have supported you in the past year? The responses to these simple prompts were extraordinary . We received over 100 submissions from 19 US states, 4 countries, and 4 continents . In the pages that follow, you will read about moments when young people felt noticed, the connections they made, and the community that their peers and trusted adults built to support them . Youll also read about moments of loneliness and disconnection, where they wished someone was there to notice their struggle or reach out . Youll hear these stories in their own voices and, in many cases, with photos or images theyve provided to help show and tell these important narratives .As young people navigate graduation and upcoming transitions, its important to not only reflect on but also to celebrate how far they have come . From both Springtide Research Institute and the Belfer Center for Innovation & Social Impact at The 92nd Street Y, New York, we hope this digital time capsule serves as a resource and an inspiration for educators, community leaders, and trusted adults looking to address the loneliness epidemic among young people . These are their stories of belonging and hopes for connection . This digital time capsule is cosponsored by Springtide Research Institutes #MentalHealthandGenZ series and The LessLonely Project, an initiative of the Belfer Center for Innovation & Social Impact at the 92nd Street Y, New York.'
